I’m Mamma Anna from “La mia Mamma”, a special restaurant in Chelsea where real Italian Mammas (mothers) run the kitchen preparing home cooked traditional regional recipes hard to find in “normal” restaurants.
We are obviously closed during this period but Mamma Sara, Mamma Rosana and I (the Mammas Squad), decided to organize something special for all the guests who have been pouring love since our opening in 2018, here is how “MAMMA’S SURVIVAL PACK” was born.
We joined our forces and, while keeping safe at home, organized special boxes to be delivered (both in big and small sizes) filled with a mix of basics from our pantry (we carefully hand picked each ingredient so you know it’s the good stuff), some of ‘make your own’ bits as well as some our handmade meals ready to be warmed up!
In Southern Italy, families have been sending “il pacco” (the box) full of traditional food to their relatives in other regions or abroad for generations to express their love and make everyone feel more connected to their roots, their land and their family.
We are not inventing anything new, we just do what we would have done if we were in Italy with part of our heart in the UK.
